Projects / Research Opportunities

This site is not up to date, please visit my official QUT lab webpage at https://research.qut.edu.au/sgel/

SGEL is always looking to recruit well-qualified Honours and PhD students.

We are also keen to hear from aspiring postdoctoral researchers wanting to further their career by applying for both internal (QUT) and external early-/mid-career fellowships, and other funding opportunities.

See below for some current research projects/themes.

Applicants should ideally have knowledge in genetics and/or epidemiology along with statistical and computational skills. Experience with the Linux/Unix operating system, a programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Perl, Python) and at least one statistical package (e.g., R, SPSS) is also highly desired. However, if you are motivated and able to learn and to think, we can teach you. You will also have the opportunity to receive more formal training by participating in courses and workshops held locally and overseas.
