AUSTRALIAN GREENS decry “[Australian Coalition PM] Abbott’s crimes against the climate… Tony Abbott is a climate criminal”

The Australian Greens decrying “Abbott’s crimes against the climate… Tony Abbott is a climate criminal” (2013): “Abbott’s crimes against the climate … Australian Greens Leader Senator Christine Milne said issuing instructions to axe the Climate Change Authority was totally irresponsible in the face of a global climate emergency."The Climate Change Authority was set up to de-politicise the process of setting greenhouse emission reduction targets," Senator Milne said."Everyone knows that a 5% emission reduction target is woefully inadequate. "Shutting down the Climate Change Authority, ahead of its first report on fair and science based emission reduction targets for Australia, is cowardly and an attack on current and future generations. "Tony Abbott is a climate criminal. Shooting the messenger does not alter the fact that Australia has to do a lot better than 5% in order to contribute fairly to the global challenge of constraining global warming to two degrees."In the context of global warming this action is a crime against humanity. "Tony Abbott should also respect the law and end his heavy handed tactics in trying to undermine the work of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC).” [1].
