CALL FOR ABSTRACT:
Abstract submission topics include (but are not limited to) the following:

GUIDELINES FOR WRITING ABSTRACTS
The Research Must be:
- Original or have not been presented in any other forum, event or competition,
- Based at least on undergraduate thesis research, not based on high school science projects or class laboratory experiments, and not based on preliminary data.
Steps in Submitting an Abstract Entry:
- Authors are requested to submit the details of their research including running title in this google form.
- The abstract/s must be emailed to pscb.online@gmail.com.
- Deadline of Abstract Submission: September 15, 2024, at 10:59 PM PST.

Guidelines in Preparing your Abstract:
1. Not more than 300 words.
2. Margin: 1 inch top and bottom; 0.75 inches left and right
3. Font Style: Times New Roman
4. Title: centered, bold, upper and lower case, font size is 12 pt.
5. Author(s): centered, upper and lower case, font size is 11 pt.
6. Authors should use first and surname
7. Use number superscripts if there are more than one affiliation of authors
8. Presenting author(s) should be underlined
9. Email address of the corresponding author should be provided
10. Affiliation: centered, upper and lower case, italicized
11. If authors are from different institutions indicate with superscripts respective affiliations
12. Include the address of the presenting author to enable interested parties to contact the author; including telephone, fax, and e-mail., font size: 10 pt.
13. Abstract: justified, font size is 11 pt.
14. Keywords: justified in lower case, font size is 11 pt.
15. Word format: 97-2003 version or more recent (.doc, .docm, .docx)
Reminders per Section of the Paper:
1. Abstract: should fit in one (1) 6x9 page, using the format specified above.
2. Introduction: part should contain the scope and purpose of the work in 2-3 short sentences only
3. Experimental Approach: must be described briefly
4. Results: only the highlights of the results should be presented, which should be quantitative if possible, or as the nature of the paper permits.
5. Uncommon acronyms should be spelled out the first time they are used; if several acronyms are used, they should be listed with their meanings at the end of the abstract
6. Conclusions: only the major conclusions should be stated; no more than five keywords should be mentioned
GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING THE POSTER
1. SIZE:
Portrait orientation
36" (W) x 46" (L)
Use paper (do NOT use tarpaulins)
2. TITLE AND AUTHOR:
Main Title: use letters equivalent to 72 points (about 2cm)
Subtitle and Author/s: use letters equivalent to 40 points (less than 1cm)
The title and author/s should be the same as in the submitted abstract.
3. TEXT LETTERING:
Use type letters that are at least 20 points (about 6mm high)
Do NOT use fancy lettering or fonts
Use upper- and lower-case standard letters
4. TEXT COLORS AND BACKGROUNDS
Dark letters on a light, plain background is easiest to read
Use a combination of closely related colors, but do NOT use too many colors
5. ILLUSTRATIONS:
Photographs and graphs should be 5” x 7” (12.5cm x 18cm)
Captions and labels on diagrams should be readable from two meters away, and not cluttered with unnecessary detail
Use only one vertical scale per graph
Graphs are preferable to tables.
6. ORGANIZATION:
Presentations should be easily followed sequentially from one part to the next
Do not clutter with so much text or artwork.
Using QR codes as a supplement is allowed for those interested in more detail
If photos on the poster do not print well, it is recommended to bring clear copies (e.g., on a tablet) that can be shown during the oral presentations
7. FILE SIZE:
A PDF file of the poster should also be submitted a day before the conference (October 22, 2024) at the latest.
What to include in the poster:
1. Abstract. Brief summary of the whole study.
2. Introduction. Make this brief. This should include the problem your work is trying to answer and the significance of your work.
3. Methods. Give only the important details; flow charts would be advisable but should be understandable and easy to follow.
4. Results. Minimize text; use graphs, pictures and tables.
5. Discussion. Should include analysis and implications of your results with regards to other published literature on the topic of your research. Include, if applicable/possible, conclusion/s, directions and next steps to take as a follow up of your results.
