Prof Musoke received a University of South Carolina Provost Grant to support her Visiting Scholar activities in April to May 2017. The activities included a comparative research project on health information behavior of women in low-income communities in North Carolina and Uganda; Preparing a conference paper or a book chapter to disseminate the findings from that research; Present public lectures focusing primarily on the findings of her research in Africa recently documented in her book titled: Informed and Healthy: Theoretical and Applied Perspectives on the Value of Information to Health Care; Write a grant proposal to further the collaboration/activities.
During the IFLA conference in August 2015 at Cape Town, Prof Musoke was elected the new chair of the Health and Biosciences Libraries section of IFLA.
From January 2015, Prof Musoke transferred to the Makerere University East African School of Library and Information Science (EASLIS) as a Professor. She was previously teaching at EASLIS on a part time basis and supervising students when she was still serving as the University Librarian. She was the Director/University Librarian at Makerere for ten years (November 2004 – December 2014). She is currently on Sabbatical leave at the University of Sheffield, her former University, writing a book about health information. The book is based on her research on that topic for many years.
