Welcome:
Welcome to the online course Isaiah! I look forward to our journey through this important prophetical book during the next 6 weeks.
Selected Annotated Bibliography for Isaiah:
Background:
Harrison, R. K. Introduction to the Old Testament. Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans, 1969. Although completed 46 years ago, it remains a standard work for Old Testament study. For the purposes of this course, the section on Isaiah is very important. (Available in Logos).
Longman, Tremper III., and Raymond B. Dillard. An Introduction to the Old Testament. 2nd ed. Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 2006. A more recent introduction to the Old Testament that provides up-to-date information, but not as extensive as Harrison's work. (Available in Logos).
Commentaries:
Oswalt, John N. The Book of Isaiah 2 vols. New International Commentary on the Old Testament. Grand Rapids, MI: William B. Eerdmans, 1986.
Motyer, J. Alec. The Prophecy of Isaiah. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 1998.
