Short Bio
Full name: Matheus D'Eça Torquato de Melo
I am an Assistant Professor at the Federal Institute of Alagoas, Arapiraca, Brazil. Recently, I finished my PhD in Informatics Engineering at the University of Coimbra, Portugal (2024). My PhD advisor was Professor Marco Vieira. I obtained my MSc from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife (2014). My MsC advisor was Professor Paulo Maciel.
My research interests are in system security, performance, and dependability evaluation. The recent topics of my research activity are focused on availability and reliability evaluation, Virtual Machine migration-enabled environments, Moving Target Defense and Software Aging and Rejuvenation. My main research interests (current) include:
- Moving Target Defense evaluation (modeling, simulation, and measurements)
- Software Aging and Rejuvenation
- Possible crossovers between AI, ML, and stochastic modeling
- Stochastic Petri Nets
I authored more than 20 peer-review papers on the topics related above. Some papers were published in top-rank venues such as Elsevier Computers & Security journal, IEEE Access journal, and IEEE International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE).
