2025 Roping Schedule

In 2022, PRDC roping started out with just an old roping sled that was pulled behind a borrowed four wheeler (which often back fired causing some real exciting action) and some groundwork dummies. In 2023, Brandon Bacon and Tony Judge became Roping Co-Chairs and had a big vision: to bring roping steers and breakaway calves to the club and start up live roping! But first, was the big job of getting the club up to safe roping standards. Tony and his company, Olympia Footing, revamped the footing in the lower arena while Brandon Bacon headed up the project of building roping boxes, run up and chute. Jim Riebli and Kyle Henderson were huge helpers in building the roping boxes. It was a team effort that would bring a lot of fun future ropings. 

       Word traveled fast that PRDC was doing live steer roping and breakaway! This attracted a great group of ropers who gather every Monday and Friday nights for roping practices. While fund raising, flipping burgers, and selling dinners (heck the kids even sold lemonade) in addition to twice a week practices, enough funds were raised for roping supplies such as a Heel-o-Matic sled and a new club quad! With the addition of these assets, practices became more and more popular... it became apparent there was a lot of people who wanted to join PRDC to rope. Tony and Brandon's vision extended to becoming American Cowboy Team Roping Association arena producers! Again, the fund raising efforts facilitated the purshase of roping jackpot supplies such as timers, eyes and a computer with the Jackpot Roping Program! With the help of PRDC member Christine Gutsch, the Roping Committee would go on to produce seven ACTRA Team Roping Jackpots the first year in 2025! Stay tuned as sixteen ACTRA team ropings and breakaway jackpots are in the works for the 2026 season!
