The cattle are HERE!! Practice nights started last week and you must be a paid member in good standing to participate. Non members may observe only. No riding or handling of horses by non members on the grounds at any time.
The lower arena project is almost finished. Many thanks to our sponsors and members for all of their donations and hard work. We still need lights and a watering system to complete the job..
Donations are much appreciated!
The Petaluma Riding and Driving Club (PRDC) was originally founded back in 1939 with just a handful of members and a small piece of property. 2014 marked our 75th anniversary, making ours one of the oldest clubs in the area. We are located on 10 acres of beautiful rural Petaluma. Our facilities include 2 lighted arenas, a round pen, ranch sorting pens, and a full-size clubhouse with a commercial kitchen.
There are club activities year round for every horse enthusiast ranging from play-days, cattle events, trail challenges, trail rides, and our annual tack swap. During the summer we have "members-only" week night practice sessions with cattle that include cutting, introduction to cattle, and ranch sorting. There are also monthly cattle events such as ranch sorting and penning shows, and cattle clinics and playdays open to the public.
PRDC is also known for our awesome cooking! Our annual crabfeed in January is "out of this world" fantastic and a great way to start your year. May hosts the Chili cook-off and silent auction with some amazing competition chili. July gives us warm summer nights to celebrate and enjoy our steak bbq & lawnmower races. In October, we have a second lawnmower race event and a chicken bbq. And our junior club celebrates October with a fantastic pasta feed & cake auction.
There's always something fun happening at PRDC! Check our calendar of events.
