Letter to Donors

Fall/Winter 2025

Dear Youth Supporter,

If you own a business, a small donation is the most economical advertising you can do!  We will advertise for you with this annual letter, the foundation website, Facebook, and other appropriate venues.   We appreciate and continue to recognize all donors to this endowment program which will make an impact into perpetuity for the youth of these two communities.  As Helen Barry said, “helping one person might not change the world, but it could change that one person’s world, and that is worth it” and as I read somewhere recently, “generosity is about more than giving money – it’s about giving hope, dignity, and kindness. . .”  Please consider this cause as you plan your annual giving this year and we graciously thank and appreciate those who continue to give year after year!  A recap of the foundation is below.

In the interest of brevity and ease of reading, a bullet style format is used.

·         The Post Oak Education & Charitable Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2007 and is now in its 19th year of operation;

·         The purpose of the foundation is to provide a summer camp or academy/enrichment experience scholarship to 7th graders in the attendance zone of Post Oak      Middle School in Spotsylvania County and Wetsel Middle School in Madison County, Virginia via an endowment program;

·         The recipients are self-nominated or nominated by a school counselor or faculty member;

·         Eighty-three students have received a summer scholarship to date and the endowment continues to grow;

·         The foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization;

·         The foundation’s webpage can be found at www.poecf.info

·         A list of recent generous donors is included in this mailing and a list of ALL past donors is posted on the website;

·         An electronic method of giving is available.  Your annual gift may be made by check or online via Facebook with a credit card or PayPal. Go to fb.me/PostOakFoundation and click on the “Donate” button; please note that Meta (Facebook) no longer covers the transaction fee. They have transitioned to the PayPal Giving Fund and the fee is roughly 3.5% which is deducted from your donation.  You are still welcome to use this method;

·         The endowment continues to grow and should provide scholarships into perpetuity.

How you can help:

As an alumnus/alumnae, faculty/staff member, parent, vendor, or friend of Post Oak Middle School and/or Wetsel Middle School, please consider contributing to this cause.  Your impact on our future leaders and citizens will be appreciated in multiple ways.

·         A form is enclosed with more information on donating;

·         A confirmation letter will be mailed to you within a few weeks of your donation and may be used for tax purposes if applicable;

·         All donors will be recognized in future letters, on the website, and elsewhere as appropriate (unless requested to be anonymous);

·         Your contribution will provide a memorable educational and social experience for students in these communities, while enriching their life experience;

·         Every dollar has an impact; no amount is too small.
