2013  and  2011,  IEEE  AP-S  Paper  Competition  |  Award  Recipient

Symon was selected as a finalist in the 2011 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Student Paper Competition for his paper "A New Leaky-Wave Antenna Design using Simple Surface-Wave Power Routing Techniques." Symon attended the Symposium in Spokane Washington and received a best paper award in the Competition for his work. Below he is congratulated by Professor Yahia M.M. Antar (middle) and Professor George V. Eleftheriades  (right).

Most recently, he has also been selected as a Honorable Mention for his invited paper "Analysis and Design of Planar Metallic Surface Lenses for Controlled Wave Guidance" at the AP-S/URSI 2013 Meeting in Orlando, Florida. The paper will be presented at the Special Session: Metasurfaces for Wave Guidance and Radiation.
