Portneuf Pioneers will be holding a memorial dedication on August 27, 2020 at 5:30 pm in Pocatello to place a historical marker on a building in the warehouse district that was formerly the local headquarters of the ZCMI dispensary from 1916 to 1947.
ZCMI stands for Zion’s Cooperative Mercantile Association. The building is located at 902 S. 1st in Pocatello and was a very significant economic influencer during the early part of the century. There will be an open house, tour of the car collection located there today, and a community reception in addition to the formal dedication of the marker.
Mr. Wayne Hinton, National President of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, will be coming from Cedar City, Utah to dedicate the memorial. He is an excellent speaker and a very well known historian. Following the dedication there will be an openhouse and a tour of the car historic car collection located there. The pubic is invited.
