HOW TO JOIN

1. To become a member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers you must a male but you do NOT have to be a blood descendent of a Utah pioneer. Women can become Affiliate Members of SUP by using the Widow Application form. We always welcome spouses, women, and other interested community members to attend any of our meetings as guests.

3. National membership provides many benefits including a subscription to the PIONEER MAGAZINE, access to National Symposium, National Convention, SUP Library and Archives, and much more.

4. Local Chapter Dues for PORTNEUF PIONEERS are $10 per year and can be paid to our treasurer at any chapter meeting throughout the year.

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS: The National office is getting very creative with membership options. We now have:

• The standard annual membership with dues of $50 being paid to National each year.

• A Life membership, costing $500, which may be paid in payments over the year.

• Family and Friends Members are those who join at a reduced rate of $25 a year. Those who are younger than 56 may continue to pay the reduced rate. Those 56 or older must renew either at the Annual or Life Member rate.

• Associate membership. This is intended for widows of members who want to stay active in the SUP. Dues for this option are $20 per year and they receive the Pioneer magazine and Trail Marker newsletter. Dues may be paid by the individual or the chapter as desired.

• Heritage Sustaining Membership. This new enhanced membership category provides the opportunity for members who desire to provide additional support for the ideals and functions of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. This is a volunteer process that can be activated by the member agreeing to a minimum ongoing payment to the SUP for at least one year or beyond. The minimum amount is the equivalent of $10 a month, which can be automatically transferred from your credit card account if desired. The first $50 of the donation will be applied for the member’s annual dues, so the enhanced support is the amount beyond the first $50. For Life Members of course, the full amount will be the enhanced donation.
