About the Portneuf Pioneers Chapter
The Portneuf Pioneers is a chapter of the National Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers dedicated to preserving the history of our PIONEER ancestors and their westward migration. We meet monthly for dinner and a program. We enjoy both local and national activities. We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month except in the months of April, July, November and December. April is the SUP National Historical Symposium in SLC, UT. July 24th is Pioneer Day and we avoid conflicts with that date. November is Thanksgiving and we avoid conflicts there as well. December is our Christmas social early in the month. Check our calendar for details. Visitors are ALWAYS welcome.
The Portneuf Pioneers chapter is an integral part of the National Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. There are about 45 chapters nationwide, most of them in Utah and the intermountain west.
The mission of the society is to come to know our fathers and turn our hearts to them, preserve their memory and heritage, honor present-day pioneers worldwide, and teach these qualities to the rising generation.
We honor the Utah Pioneers for their faith in God, devotion to family, loyalty to church and country, hard work and service to others, courage in adversity, personal integrity, and unyielding determination.
Membership in the society is open to all good men of every age and circumstance who have an interest in the early Utah Pioneers and wish to honor them, perpetuate their memory and preserve their heritage for posterity.
