Current research
Both natural and human-driven processes shape the genetic diversity of domesticated plant species. So far, few studies have considered the imprint of domestication on tropical fruit tree species. The African plum (Dacryodes edulis) is a highly cultivated fruit tree, indigenous from Central Africa. In order to explore the domestication history of D. edulis, my research will focus on the structuration of its genetic diversity in the Congo Basinand its interplay with current anthropogenic factors (management practices, varietal selection). Results will contribute to theestablishment of sustainable management and conservationstrategies of the genetic resources of the species.
This project will be conducted at the DIADE research unit, in collaboration with Dschang University (Cameroon).
