Current research

Tropical rainforests are the most diverse biomes in the world. Using different spatial and temporal scales, I study the evolution of African tropical rainforests. I focus on the Annonaceae, a diverse family of trees, shrubs and lianas restricted to tropical rainforests. I use different approaches, from taxonomy (revision of the Uvariopsis and Uvariodendron genera) and phylogeny (tribe Monodoreae), to macro-evolution and biogeographic history of the African rainforests.

Scientific interests

botany, taxonomy, phylogeny, macroevolution, biogeography, tropical ecosystems
