Research interest

I am interested in understanding the evolution of genome architecture and specially the impact of Structural Variation rearrangements on genome dynamics and evolutionary mechanisms (such as selection and domestication) within populations. To better understand the role of these variations in adaptation, my phd project focus on the genomic diversity in cultivated African Rice and its wild relative during and after domestication using pangenomic approaches. The questions we want to answer are: what roles do these structural variations play in genes composition or adaptation? Are they preferentially selected or counterselected? Are they more often associated with phenotypes than nucleotide variations?

I am also member of the team in charge of the Itrop bioinformatics platform at IRD
