3. Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, Rowan University, NJ.

From January 2015 to March 2018

Responsibilities:

As a graduate research assistant, I am currently involved in many projects which are funded by DOT. It is found that autonomous vehicles were involved in more than 9 minor crashes and 2700 disengagements during 460 hundreds miles of autonomous driving in the year of 2015 (Source: California DMV). I have developed a fault-tree based analysis framework to identify risks related to those crashes and disengagements. I have also prepared survey tools based on the Delphi method to scale the identified autonomous vehicle deployment policies by integrating data collected from subject matter experts (SMEs). Currently I am working on the development of a traffic micro simulation model using PTV VISSIM to model autonomous vehicles in a mixed traffic stream. Besides these, I am also working on signal optimization using Genetic Algorithm (GA) and development of evacuation routing in a connected vehicles environment.

6. Research Assistant, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh

From February 2013 to August 2013

Responsibilities:

My responsibilities were to develop a National Action Plan (NAP) for reduction of Short Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP); such as black carbon, methane, etc. It was a Government funded project in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) & Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), led by Department of Environment (DoE), Ministry of Environment and Forest, Bangladesh. For this project, I had collected required data to model current scenarios in LEAP model and then run the model to predict the pollutant emission rates for 2025 and 2030. For developing required policies to reduce these emission rates, the DoE organized workshops to discuss with stakeholders. Based on their suggestions, our team prepared the draft National Action Plan for reduction of SLCP emission rates in the future.
