About Me

I am a native English speaker with a doctoral degree in physical anthropology. My professional training included various courses in anthropology, archaeology, biology, and evolution, as well as considerable archaeological and paleoanthropological field experience (see curriculum vitae page). As a result, I have broad knowledge and expertise in the biological and social sciences.

I have published a number of articles in international journals dedicated to anthropology and the forensic sciences (see publications page). I have also had some success writing grant proposals for international funding agencies. In addition, I have been asked to peer-review article submissions for a number of academic journals (see curriculum vitae page). Therefore, I am familiar with the standards and expectations of reviewers.

In addition to my anthropological research, I have worked for six years as an English instructor at language schools in Spain and the UK.

Online Service and Rates

I offer affordable and competitive rates for my proofreading and editing service with prices per written word starting at 0.02 GBP. The amount charged for each assignment varies and is based on the length of the document, the amount of work required (quality of the written text), and the desired turnaround time (usual price range 0.03-0.07 GBP per written word). There are no administrative or processing fees.

You can submit you document, preferably in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), as an email attachment to p.james.macaluso(at)hotmail.com.

Your document will then be reviewed for spelling and typographical errors, grammatical mistakes, appropriate capitalization and punctuation, consistent use of abbreviations, and American versus British word usage, as well as correct sentence structure.

Your document will be returned with all corrections shown as ‘Track Changes’ with additional remarks or questions inserted as margin comments. A second file with all editorial changes incorporated into the text will also be provided.

Payment is accepted via PayPal (a fast and secure online system that accepts major credit and debit cards) or Electronic Bank Transfer. Please note that you do not need a PayPal account to pay via PayPal, and the process takes only a few minutes and it is very safe.
