Background: After my studies as a Biochemist and Biotechnologist at the University of Thessaly in Greece I started in 2008 my PhD at the Department of Systemsbiology of Plants at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany. My doctoral thesis focused on the molecular characterization of two homologous deubiquitinating enzymes, called AMSH, in Arabidopsis thaliana and their impact in intracellular protein trafficking pathways, specifically in endocytosis and autophagy

My current work: I joined the Lab of Lionel Pintard as a Postdoctoral fellow in September of 2014. My current project is adressing the role of the ubiquitin system in controlling cell cycle progression in C. elegans by developing tools to identify ubiquitin modified proteins in early embryos.
