Prayer to Saint Joseph
composed by Pope Leo XIII

To you, O blessed Joseph,
do we come in our tribulation,
and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse,
we confidently invoke your patronage also.

Through that charity which bound you
to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God
and through the paternal love
with which you embraced the Child Jesus,
we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance
which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood,
and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities.

O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family,
defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ;
O most loving father, ward off from us
every contagion of error and corrupting influence;
O our most mighty protector, be kind to us
and from heaven assist us
in our struggle with the power of darkness.

As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril,
so now protect God's Holy Church
from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity;
shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection,
so that, supported by your example and your aid,
we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness,
and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven.

Year of St. Joseph Indulgences

Granted by the Holy See from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021

The PLENARY INDULGENCE is granted under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer according to the intentions of the Holy Father) to the faithful who, with a spirit detached from any sin, participate in the Year of Saint Joseph on the occasions and in the manner indicated by this Apostolic Penitentiary:

        May 1st (Feast of St. Joseph the Worker)
        December 26th (Feast of the Holy Family)

Requiescat in Pace

Dear Devotees of Saint Philomena and friends of her Sanctuary,

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the greatest devotee of Saint Philomena in our time.

Monsignor Giovanni Braschi
October 24, 1943 - February 26, 2021

Rector of the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena
Custodian of the Sacred Body of Saint Philomena
President and Spiritual Director of the Universal Archconfraternity of Saint Philomena
Passed away suddenly on February 26th, 10:30 in the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena in the presence of loved ones. He was suffering from bronchitis over the past week which had worsened in the past day.  Today Our Lord called him home when his heart stopped.
Msgr. Braschi or as he was affectionately known, Don Giovanni, has always recounted that he wanted to take his last breath in the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena which had been his home for more than 37 years and he loved dearly.
He was the worldwide expert on everything related to Saint Philomena and was definitely the greatest devotee of Saint Philomena our time has known. He is now in the presence of Saint Philomena and is at peace.

“My children, St. Philomena has great power with God. Her virginity and generosity in embracing heroic martydom has rendered her so agreeable to God that He will never refuse anything that she asks for us.”
