菩提達摩祖師
達摩,全稱菩提達摩,意譯為覺法。自稱佛傳禪宗第二十八祖,為中國禪宗的始祖, 故中國的禪宗又稱達摩宗,達摩被尊稱為“東土第一代祖師”、“達摩祖師”。與寶誌禪師(西元一八五一年)、傅大士(西元四九七五六九年)合稱梁代三大士。於中國南朝梁武帝時期航海到廣州。梁武帝信佛。達摩至南朝都城建業會梁武帝,面談不契,遂一辈渡江,北上北魏都城洛陽,後卓錫嵩山少林寺,面壁九年,傳衣缽於慧可。後出禹門遊化身。達摩,是中國禪宗的始祖。他生於南天空(印度),婆羅門族,傳說他是香至王的第三子,出家後傾心大乘佛法,出家後從般若多羅大師。南朝梁·普通年中(520~526,一說南朝宋末),他自印度航海來到廣州,從這裡北行至北魏,到處以禪法教人。據說他在洛陽看見永寧寺寶塔建築的精美,自言年已一百五十歲,經二祖慧可,三祖僧璨、四祖道信、五祖弘忍、六祖慧能等大力弘揚,終於一花五葉,盛開秘苑,成為中國佛教最大宗門,後人便尊達摩為中國禪宗初祖,尊少林寺為中國禪宗祖庭。東魏天平三年(公元536年)卒於洛濱,葬熊耳山。
Bodhidharma
Dharma or complete name Bodhidharma, name which translate as the way of consciousness. Claimed to be the 28th ancestor of Buddhism Zen, the ancestor of Chinese Zen, the Chinese Zen is also known as the Bodhidharma. Bodhidharma is respected as the "first generation ancestor of the Eastern Territory" and "Dharma ancestor. Together with Bao Zhi Zen Master and Fu Da Shi , they were known as the Three Great Men of the Liang Dynasty. He sailed to Guang Zhou during the period of Emperor Wu of Liang in the Southern Dynasty. Emperor Wu believed in Buddha. Bodhidharma went to Southern Dynasty and discuss about the construction in the capital with Emperor Wu, but the conversation was unsatisfactory, so he crossed the river, went north to the North Wei capital Luo Yang, and then to Song mountain Shaolin Temple, facing the wall in a cave for nine years, passing the mantle to Hui Ke. Later he went to Yu Men to live for life.
Bodhidharma is the ancestor of Chinese Zen. He was born in Southern Tian Zu (India), a Brahmin tribe. According to legend, he was the third son of Xiang Zhi (an Indian King). After he became a monk, he devoted himself to Mahayana Dharma. In the middle of the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties (520 ~ 526, the end of the Southern Song Dynasty), he sailed from India to Guang Zhou. From here, he traveled north to the Northern Wei Dynasty, and he taught people about Zen. It is said that he saw the exquisite architecture of the pagoda of Yong Hing Temple in Luo Yang. He said he was 150 years old.
His second successor was Hui Ke, the third ancestor was Seng Can, the fourth ancestor was Dao Xin, the fifth ancestor was Hong Ren, the six ancestor was Hui Neng and other vigorously promoted, finally one flower and five leaves bloomed in the secret garden, becoming the largest Buddhist sect in China. The first ancestor of Chinese Zen, recognized that Shaolin Temple as the ancestral court of Chinese Zen. In 3rd year of Eastern Wei Tian Ping (AD 536), he died in Luo Bin and was buried in Xiong Er Mountain.
