Welcome to my personal homepage. I am an Associate Professor of Economics  (with tenure) at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. I received my Ph.D. in 2012 from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and an undergraduate degree in economics (Diplom-Volkswirt, equivalent to M.A. in economics) in 2006 from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.

I am an applied microeconomic theorist. The main area of my research is Political Economy. I am particularly interested in studying (a) how digital social media networks impact political competition and facilitate the spread of disinformation, and (b) political inactivity in the face of climate change. My secondary research fields include industrial organization, personnel economics, and the theory of contests and tournaments.

I received a Ramón y Cajal fellowship from the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (the Spanish national science agency) in 2024. Since 2021, I have been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Politics. Additionally, I have been a research associate of the EFFORT Project since 2020.
