PRESIDENT MESSAGE

JUNE 2025

As the Philadelphia Emerald Society moves forward this year we hope to get more of you involved in our scheduled events. Next up is the annual Fall Fling down the shore in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.

Most members who attend the Fall Fling have returned year after year. If you have never gone, I can assure that once you do, you too will become a repeat attendee. Visit here at the website in our Events section for details on this event. You will find that it is worth every penny.

I am committed to making our events inclusive of all members as we move into the future. There are a number of events in the planning stages and I always welcome new ideas from all of our members. If you have an idea that you feel would be fun and exciting never hesitate to pass it along to myself or one of our Board members.

Last month we enjoyed our second annual Philadelphia Phillies tailgate and ball game at Citizens Bank Park. Despite a rainy day this event was once again an overwhelming success and more along these lines are being researched.

For any members who do not know me, I am a 29-year member of the Philadelphia Police Department. I began my career back in 1995 in the 22nd District where I worked for more than 15 years. During that time I worked the Burglary Detail (12 years) and on the NETS (narcotics) team for the last three. I then transferred to Juvenile Enforcement Team where we served warrants on juvenile gun offenders while also monitoring those who were on probation. After that, I was assigned to the K9 unit working out of the Philadelphia International Airport.

I am married with three children, two of whom are fellow Philadelphia Police Officers. I have been a member of the Philadelphia FOP Lodge 5 Executive Board for the past 15 years and currently serve as Vice-President.

I hope to meet all of you at future Emerald Society events. All of our events and the details on those are made available here in the website Events section and on our social media feeds at Facebook, Instagram, and X/Twitter.

If you have been payroll deduction and retire your membership will end. Simply go to the 'Membership' section of this website, print the form, fill out your new information, and follow the instructions to mail it in. Or you can visit the FOP any day of the week and see our Recording Secretary, Al Kuchler, who has all the forms necessary for continuing your membership.
