Why me! Letter of Intent

Institutions need to adapt.  Fortunately, I like to learn and grow.  I love new styles of teaching such as: flipped classrooms, blended learning, teaching from home.   I like to try new things. When new problems arise, I find enjoyment in looking for new solutions.  I believe in trying my best to help new things work before I cast judgement. I am intrigued by challenges.   Whereas others shirk or withdraw from things that are new or difficult;  I embrace the challenge.  This passion and openness to change is what will help me always stay current. 

I consistently seek the counsel and advice of others.  I seek out people’s strengths.  I know that I grow by the wisdom of those around me.   I am great at implementing others ideas that make everyone feel included.  In the end, it is more effective than what any of us could have created alone. 

I come with a lot of experience and diversity.   I have worked in three districts and taught in four middle schools.  I have spent five years in a title one middle school, in which 100% of our students qualified for free or reduced lunch, and a 64% Hispanic population.  I was blessed to come back to Box Elder already trained in Trauma ACEs, CHAMPS, and Growth Mindset.  Additionally, I am upper level Google and Canvas certified. 

 I have a strong background in working with extremely broken and hard people. I have seven years of working in foster care. I do very well with kids that struggle.  Students that are hard for other teachers are not hard for me.  Schools tend to give me the most IEP, non proficient, and behavior students.  In Ogden, I was one of three hand selected teachers to be over the 25 most difficult students at our school.  I am good at reaching unreachable people.  I am not militant.  I often use humor, logic, and love to reach these kids.  I am loving but firm.  This insistent but also fun and loving nature makes them compliant.  In turn this makes them realize and reach their potential.  

I am always looking to climb higher.  I am a driver personality.  I make those around me rise higher.  I am a multiplier, I multiply and amplify the best qualities in others.   I make those around me want to become more.  I encourage and bring out other’s best features.  I make people excited to learn and to try new things.
