provide an opportunity for members to share the results of their own current research and to benefit from the work of others related to the field at the biennial conference of the NAfME: The National Association for Music Education
inform both in-service music teachers and university faculty about recent developments in the field of Music Perception & Cognition and their relevance to music learning
serve as a conduit for the continuing communication between members in the period between the biennial national conferences
provide opportunities for the conception and carrying out of collaborative, inter-institutional research projects
interface with other national and/or regional organizations associated with the field (e.g., the Society for Music Perception & Cognition), as representatives of the music education community
