Patridge - Farrar 2018 - Equal Pay

We believe that everyone should be paid the same amount based on experience because it is helpful for families and especially for families relying on one income. Some families have a stay at home mom or only have one parent, so they may be forced to rely on one income and by allowing equal pay for everyone that helps support the family and eradicate the problem. It isn't only a problem for families relying on one income it is also a problem for women and people of a different race. It can especially be hard for people of a different race because if they just moved to this country it's gonna be hard to find a home, a job, and make enough money. We are all humans and deserve to be paid the same as any other person, which is why Elianna Patridge will institute an equal pay law to fix this problem once and for all.

When two people complete the same work in the same job description, it makes sense that they should be payed exactly the same. But unfortunately, that isn't the case. Many workers in the United States are payed unfairly, simply because of things such as gender, race, and religion. We believe that these things should never be factors when employers are writing out paychecks. This is a huge problem for the working class of America because many people are not getting enough money to support themselves and their families, especially if there is only one bread-winner in the household.

On average, Caucasian women are paid 20% less then Caucasian men.

However, these numbers get even worse when race and ethnicity are added in.

Asian women make and average of 15% less than white men, black women make 37% less, and Hispanic women make 46% less, even when they have equal education and qualification*.

This is a matter of unfair discrimination, and it needs to be stopped NOW. As president, Elianna Patridge will institute a law to make sure that ALL equally qualified workers are paid the same.
