Music from the production of Mary Stuart at the Folger Theatre. The play takes place in the last years of the life of Mary Queen of Scots when she was imprisoned in England and hilights the rivalry between Mary and her cousin Queen Elizabeth. The music is primarily french horn, cello, and drum. The horn I felt gave a feeling of regalness and power, while the cello brought a certain tone of sadness to it as many years imprisoned would bring to a person. The drums are at times warlike, at other times funereal, and brought an urgency to certain moments when I needed it.
