Zone Two Playdowns Procedures
General
As there are eight (8) Clubs in the Zone, the playdowns format will be the “Modified double knock-out with a maximum of six draws”. On arrival at the rink the Skips shall pick a number “from the hat” to determine positions on the draw sheet.
The Host club and the Zone directors should be familiar with Policy & Regulations Document Articles 12.0 & 12.1.
Playdowns shall have an even number of teams if possible. Zone directors will determine if there are any vacancies. If there are, the directors shall fill the vacancies or follow the specific draw format as per Policy & Regulations Document Article 12.1.1.

Guy Philp and Albert Oliver Playdowns (Haney/GEWC - Jan 19, 20 and 21)
· Prior to Jan 8, Club Playdown Coordinator (PC) shall collect entry forms from each team.
· Club Playdown Coordinator (PC) shall email number of entries to Senior Director by January 8.
· Club Rep team winner shall be determined by January 15 (by round robin or double knockout).
· Club Rep teams shall present all the forms as well as their $160 Zone entry fee to the Zone director on the first day of the playdowns at the host club.
· Zone director submits the forms and fees to PCMCA, with the results of the playdowns.
Women’s Playdowns (Delta Thistle - TBD)
· Prior to January 8, PC shall collect entry forms from each team.
· PC shall email number of entries to Senior Director by Jan 8
· There may be room for all entries to compete in the playdowns.
· Club Rep team winner shall be determined by January 15 (by round robin or double knockout).
· Club Rep teams shall present all the forms and their $160 Zone entry fee to the Zone director on the first day of the playdowns at the host club.
· Zone director submits the forms and fees to the PCMCA, with the results of the playdowns.
Mixed Playdowns (Delta Thistle – TBD)
· Prior to Feb 1, PC shall collect entry forms from each team.
· PC shall email number of entries to Senior Director by Feb 3.
· There may be room for all entries to compete in the playdowns.
· Club Rep team winner shall be determined by February 8 (by round robin or double knockout).
· Club Rep teams shall present all the forms and their $160 Zone entry fee t to the Zone director on the first day of the playdowns at the host club.
· Zone director submits the forms and fees to PCMCA, with the results of the playdowns.
Substitution
· It shall be the responsibility of the Senior Director and the Host Club to ensure that the following substitution policy is made clear or distributed to all Skips of team entries prior to the Zone playdowns, and again at the Zone playdowns.
“If the Zone winning team:
1) is replaced due to illness, the team shall give their crests to the runner-up team and the runner-up team shall be invited to replace the Zone winner as the Zone representative at the Combined. Replacement crests to be provided to the replaced team.
2) decides NOT to participate in the Combined for any other reason, the runner-up team(s) shall be invited to participate in the winner’s place. The winner’s reasons for not participating shall be reported to the PCMCA Secretary/ Treasurer for the PCMCA Directors to take action. If the reasons are not acceptable to the PCMCA Directors, the offending team shall be required to forfeit its crests as Zone winners and the crests shall be awarded to the replacement team that agrees to represent the Zone at the Combined. (To receive the crests, the replacement team must be from Zone 2.)
