Telecommunication Network Security (TE60004)

In recent years, the world has been connected, in particular through wireless links. However, one of the critical problem the network faces is security of data. In general, security has been handled by the higher layer and physical layer has been ignored. In recent years, physical layer secrecy has been emerged as a promising approach to ensure security in wireless communication. Physical layer secrecy is based on a well defined mathematical theory and exploits the inherent characteristics of the wireless channel such as noise, fading, etc. It does not depend on the Eve technology or computing power. The course will focus on non-cryptographic and cryptographic security mechanisms, and their usage for wireless network security will be presented. The course will also discuss about security aspects for Internet of Things (IoT).
