What does the name Wasserkuppe mean?

It's the source of the river Fulda and the highest spring in the state of Hesse. There are some 30 streams and rivers originating from the Wasserkuppe, which in German means “water dome” after all.

The Wasserkuppe is a mountain within the German state of Hesse. It is a large plateau formation at an elevation of 950 metres and is the highest peak in the Rhön Mountains.  616th ACW History
