Post is delivered once a day, around mid-day, every day except Sunday. The postman puts the post for all residents through the letterbox in the front door of the block of flats. Any resident who sees the post may put the individual items of post into the respective mailboxes. If a resident does not have time to put the individual items of post into the appropriate mailboxes, the resident may ignore the post or leave it on the ledge above the mailboxes for another resident to put the individual items of post into the appropriate post slots.
The post is delivered sorted by flat numbers. If you do not have time, or do not want to put the post in the appropriate post slots, please do not mess up the order of the post as it then wastes the time of the resident who puts the post in the appropriate post slots.
If you find letters in your post slot that are not for you, e.g. they are for persons who no longer live in your flat, please cross out the address, write "Return to sender" on the envelope and post it through a Royal Mail letter box.
The mailboxes are fire rated and include a number of specially designed features to meet fire rating standards BS EN 1363-1: 2012. These mailboxes use a fire cover which limits the access to the mailbox lock and the mailbox flap uses an inward sprung hinge to stop the flap from falling out of the box. The mailbox aperture uses an intumescent seal which expands when exposed to a large increase in temperature; closing the gap and restricting the flow of oxygen into the mailbox.
Each flat has its own mailbox with a set of keys. Please note that the keys to the mailbox should be treated in the same manner as the keys to your flat and you will be solely responsible for replacing them. Click lost keys, etc for useful information regarding the keys.
