The Raingutter Regatta Derby is one of three official Cub Scout derbies. Each scout was issued a Tricat boat kit at the beginning of August (contact Adam if your son did not pick one up). They were instructed to assemble their boat using only the parts in the kit (fishing line may be used to tie down the sail). They may also decorate their boat with paint, markers, stickers, etc.
To be eligible to compete, the scout shall craft his own boat; wear a Class A Uniform; and be present for rules and instructions at the start of the race. Each participant will race at least twice in this double-elimination derby. Trophies and pins will be awarded to the top three finishers. The adults and scouts will vote on the best decorated boats with awards for each. Every scout shall receive a patch for his participation in the event.
Scouts may invite siblings, relatives or friends to compete in an exhibition race (boats are not provided). Pre-registration is encouraged.
