Map and Compass

Where: Idylbrook Park

When: Saturday, September 13, 2025 1-4pm

The Scouts will go out with their dens. They will use a magnetic compass (we should have enough for each team, but if you have a spare, please bring it along) and map to explore the woods of Idylbrook and Wenakeening Woods to find waypoints spread throughout the trail system. The waypoints will be will be marked on the map, identified with bright colored flags, and within ~2 feet of the trail.

Scouts should be prepared for a 2-3 mile stroll, bring water, and have their Scout essentials in a bag. This should take no more than 90 minutes (some will probably finish in 45-60), but will depend on how long the Scouts take in their explorations. Families are welcome and will walk with their dens.

Meet at 1:00 for a brief explanation of logistics and we should have groups starting out on the trails by 1:15.

Meet at the north Idylbrook parking lot off Kimberly Drive.
