Leaders

Skip Curtiss, Cubmaster. Skip grew up as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in Avon, CT, reaching the rank of Life Scout. He enjoyed Scouting as a kid because of the service and leadership opportunities it offered and the friendships he found there. A few highlights were a High Adventure canoe trip along the Allagash in Maine, and working as a BSA  summer camp counselor and aquatics instructor. He has been with Pack 30 for 7 years as a Den Leader and Assistant Cubmaster. As Cubmaster he's looking forward to growing the wonderful energy in our Pack and continuing to build the culture of service our Pack has in our community through our Scouting for Food program and other service projects. In his day job, he is a production manager at American Repertory Theater and teaches at Emerson College. He can be reached at info@pack30.com.

Mark Ottensmeyer, Assistant Cubmaster. Mark got his start through Scouts Canada in Toronto, ON, beginning as a Beaver and continuing through Cubs, Scouts and Venturers, completing the Chief Scout and Queen's Venturer awards.  White water canoe trips, a national jamboree, spelunking and Kub Kar (Pinewood Derby) races are fond memories.  Mark has been a Den Leader with Pack 30 since 2020 and Assistant Cubmaster as of 2022.  He's enjoyed bringing a STEM flavor to Den and Pack activities (rocket demos, Halloween chemistry, mousetrap cars and a Minecraft "hike/canoe trip" as an online COVID activity) and supporting the Pack's service and outdoor pursuits.   Mark works in medical robotics for Heartlander Surgical, and at Massachusetts General Hospital, 3D printing models for clinicians, and developing biomedical research instruments.  He can be reached at info@pack30.com.

Taylor Boas, Pack Committee Chair/Webelos Den Leader. Taylor grew up as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in Atlanta, GA, earning his Eagle Scout award in 1992. He loved Scouting as a kid because of the leadership opportunities and outdoor activities it offered. The highlight of these was a week of backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM. After Scouting he went on to become an instructor in his high school and college outdoor programs, teaching skills ranging from rock climbing to teamwork. As Cubmaster he enjoys sharing what he learned through Scouting with a new generation of youth. In his day job, he is a professor of political science at Boston University. He can be reached at info@pack30.com.
