Join

Costs for a scout to join or renew for one calendar year:

$85 Scouting America membership (this covers insurance and national program support)
$60 Spirit of Adventure Council membership / New England Adventure Card (this covers regional program support and access to activities at local camps)
$15 Scout Life magazine (optional)
(a credit card processing fee is added to the above during check-out)

$60 Pack dues (this helps to pay for our direct activities like campouts and the Pinewood Derby, supplies, pack t-shirt, and more)

$220 Total cost to join (or $205 without Scout Life)

To join, fill out an online application form at https://my.bsa.us/227pab0030mb. You will pay Scouting America directly via credit card for all but the Pack dues ($60). Please submit this amount to the Pack, either by Paypal (http://www.paypal.me/Pack30/), or check (made out to "Cub Scout Pack 30").

To renew, please submit your renewal to Scouting America directly through my.scouting.org when you receive you renewal notification. Please submit your pack dues ($60) to the Pack, by Paypal (http://www.paypal.me/Pack30/), or check (made out to "Cub Scout Pack 30").

In addition to the above fees, families purchase a uniform for their Cub Scout (from a local Scout Shop, or online at http://www.scoutstuff.org) and a book for each Den they participate in (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos), which contains the activities and requirements for advancement for Scouts of each grade level. Scouting America has a helpful guide for patch placement.

Financial Assistance: If you are considering joining or renewing in Pack 30 but find these costs to be tough for your budget, please contact us at pack30watertownma@gmail.com. Some financial assistance is available, as are used uniforms and books. No one should miss out on Scouting because of the cost!
