Solution for the final exam.

Lectures:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30-10.45, room 604, building 83.

Exception: during the first two weeks of term, September 5, 7, 12 and 14, lectures will be in room 204, building 83.

No classes on the following days:

3 October (Chuseok), 5 October (Chuseok), 26 October (reading period)

Exam date:

12 December, 8.35-10.50. Note the early start. Please arrive in the classroom no later than 8.30.

Aim:

To teach basic mathematical methods useful in economics: linear algebra, optimization of functions of several variables, analysis on the real line. See lecture notes for more details.

Prerequisites:

Familiarity with single-variable calculus.

Simon and Blume (1994): Mathematics for Economists, Norton

Ross (2013): Elementary Analysis. The Theory of Calculus, 2nd ed., Springer

Here is a second version of the notes, where I have added or changed some things based on what I said in lectures. This is meant as complement to the other lecture notes and the notes you take during lectures. Most of the content is like in the original notes. Please let me know of any mistakes. There are no changes to Chapters 2 and 3.
