Syllabus (updated 16 December 2015)

Time and place for lectures and exams:

Lectures: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30-10.45 am, building 83, room 505.

Mid-term exam: Tuesday 19 April. Solution (posted 19 April 2.25 pm).

Final exam: Tuesday 7 June, 9.25-10.50 am (please arrive early), building 83, room 505. Solution (posted 10 June 5.40 pm).

Material relevant for the final exam:

• Everything in the lecture notes (parts 1, 2 and 3).

• Everything covered in the lectures.

• Everything in the textbook ch. 2, 3, appendix 3A.1-3A.4, 4, 15.1-15.5.  

• Key ideas (as covered in lectures and lecture notes) from textbook ch. 5.1-5.2, 16.1-16.3.

• In the exam there will be more emphasis on topics covered after the mid-term exam, particularly the topics in ch. 4 and 15.1-15.5 (questions about these topics will be at least 75-80% of the exam).

• All the details in ch. 4.2 are relevant, even though I did not talk about everything in class.

No lecture: Thursday 21 April (study day) and Thursday 5 May (children's day)
