Of course I love Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog! Doesn't everyone? That's a rhetorical question, because yes, they do. Following the mild success that was my General Zod (Superman-villain) costume two years ago, I got cocky and decided to try something more ambitious. This much sewing was new to me. I call it a success.
This was for a fancy dress party with a Superheroes/Supervillains theme. I'd just got a sewing machine and I was keen to try it out on more than just taking up a pair of pants or two. It's a fantastic machine - some features but almost completely mechanical, so when I want to know what a lever does, all I need to do is take off the outer cover and I can figure out what it does by looking at the mechanisms! Now that's a sewing machine for an engineer. Thanks mum :-)
The costume by the way, is of General Zod, who is Superman's enemy from the first two movies. Why Zod? I'm not especially a fan of Superman, I'm just a close enough physical match and I have a beard. Some guys from work suggested it, and I was up for the challenge of making those boots - they're just fitted leggings that I made, and then wore with normal black shoes.
