Manage Users

User interface

• Enable Improved Setup User Interface - makes setup link appear in header.
• Show Quick Create - you may need to delete this.
• Enable hover details/related list hover lists
• Enable separate loading of related lists - saves time loading pages.
• Enable collapsible sidebar

Login issues

Go to User record and click related link for Login History. If account has not been locked or there are unsuccessful attempts, this means:

• check username
• check URL is the live or correct instance.

Permission Sets

This is a set of permissions that you can assign to different roles to extend the permission of one or more individuals in one or more roles. eg you may want one chatter admin per role.

• Setup > Manage Users > Permission Sets and click New
• Add Label and Description and set a license to Salesforce
• Save
• Click into new permission set and click Manage Assignments and then add people.

You can also assign apps etc

Removing users

• Freeze (button in User Detail) and remove all schedules etc if an admin user or if necessary
• Active (checkbox in User Detail) - uncheck.
