General Submission Requirements
The submission must be written by the student. To ensure fairness, the submissions are evaluated without reference to any personal information about the students.
Absolutely no student names, reference to gender, high schools, school officials, advisors, mentors, affiliated research organizations, acknowledgements, or any other identifying information of the entrants are to appear anywhere in the report.
Any piece of information that is not your own or common knowledge must be properly cited.
All claims of novelty and of substantial significance must be documented. If you chose to use superlatives such as “never before discovered,” “state of the art,” “best study to date,” or something similar, you must provide extensive detail to support these statements.
All writing must be in English.
The entire document will be submitted as one PDF file.
Format Requirements
Project Summary
Provides a brief caption of the work.
Start with a broad picture of the problem you have chosen to study and why it is interesting.
Describe what information is missing and how you will address the gap in the knowledge.
State the specific problem to be solved or hypothesis to be tested.
Describe how you performed your work. Mention common procedures, but you do not need to describe them in detail.
Present your findings in brief detail, being quantitative and providing statistics when possible.
Provide an interpretation of the results and the implications of your findings.
Describe what makes your results unique and distinguish your results from other published literature.
Briefly recap what was learned from your research.
Format
No identifiable information on the pages. Examples: student name, school name, mentor's name or institution, acknowledgements
2-page maximum - all text (main body, references, etc.) and figures (image, table, graph, drawing, or illustration) must fit on 2-pages
Margins - no smaller than 0.75 inches
Main text font size - 12 point, Times New Roman
Figure labels and references - 10 point, Times New Roman
Line spacing - range of 1.0 to 2.0 is acceptable
First line of the document should be the project title - centered and bolded.

Figure
Summary may be submitted with up to two figures. Figures can be images, tables, graphs, drawings, or illustrations related to your research.
The figure(s) should be generated by the student.
The figure(s) should not be offensive or inappropriate (which includes images/photographs showing invertebrate or vertebrate animals/humans in surgical, necrotizing or dissection situations).
A figure caption that describes the figure contents is required.
References
APA formatted references and in-text citations are encouraged.
Only include references cited in-text.
If another referencing format is used, be consistent.
Failure to cite work will result in disqualification.
