PRESTO Group & Event Manager is the online system OHUG members use to create schedules and make requests for performances and events at the Opera House. You can offer availability and schedule volunteer experiences by going to your own PRESTO page.
Based on long-term use, the OHUG organizing team has put together HERE answers to frequently asked questions about PRESTO.
Within PRESTO itself there are also many help-links.
If you do not find the help you need, please contact the OHUG organizing team at <ushers@sfopera.com> for further support.
PRESTO Hints and Tips
• PRESTO provides dynamic scheduling. As assignments are made or cancelled, performances may close and re-open over time. So you should check PRESTO frequently to see if you can usher for a performance you really want that was closed when you first tried to volunteer for it.
• To schedule a shift, login to PRESTO and select the scheduling period you want.
Available shifts are displayed along with buttons for signing up or requesting.
(A performance such as a Gala may be available to ushers who have, for example, volunteered frequently and fulfilled the Nutcracker expectation.)
• The "Self-Signup Home" link at the top of every PRESTO page once you are logged in will get you to the page where you can select the scheduling period of interest. This page also displays your schedule in a calendar or a list.
(Note: this is the only page where you can view your assignments; a Signup page may hint at your shifts, but is not foolproof.)
• To get automated schedule reminders emailed to you periodically (or to change when they are sent):
1) Click on "Registration Info" between the events list and your schedule (on the Self-Signup Home page).
2) Under "Reminders" you can choose to have your schedule sent every Monday or the first day of every month or to have a reminder sent one to three days before each signup. And you can change this at any time. New accounts have automatic reminders set as a default, which can be reset of course.
• "Registration Info" is also the place to change your email address associated with your account and to record an explanation for any positions that you are unable to work.
