Europe

PC version

  • There is one version for the PC (Mapsource/Basecamp) with installer for Windows.
  • Mac OSX users can download the mapset with Javawa Mapconverter.
  • Because the zip file is very big (8,5 Gb!) a download manager is recommended to resume broken downloads and accelerate the download speed
  • Read the installation instructions below or in the readme file.

GPS version

  • There are three areas (NW Europe only) for the Garmin GPS units available. Other areas for the GPS can be installed from the PC version with Basecamp or can be bought on SD-card.
  • The GPS versions can also be used on Android smartphones/tablets with the Oruxmaps app. Other dedicated GPS devices (Mio, Teasi, Bryton, TomTom etc) are NOT supported!

Instructions for installation

Pc version (Windows installer)
  1. Unpack the zip file to a location of your choice, e.g. C:\Garmin\Maps\OFM(EU2015). If extracting doesn't work, try 7-zip.org
  2. Existing maps from previous EU versions have different ID's so no need to remove them (unless you need disk space)
  3. Run Install_OFM_EU2015.exe to install the mapset into the registry of Basecamp/Mapsource (this takes only a few seconds). Depending on your windows configuration, you need to right-click install file and run as Administrator.
  4. Ignore anti-virus warnings, they are false positive. Sometimes you need to disable your anti-virus software when installing.
  5. Read the tips & tricks section how to use the maps
  6. You can simply move the map another location with a file manager and run install.exe again to update Basecamp/Mapsource register.
Mac OSX (gmap format):
  1. Install and run Javawa's Mapconverter to convert and install the zip file.
  2. Unpack the zip file (double click), open the folder OFM(EU2015-05-14) in Finder and drag the sub folder OFM(EU2015) to MapConverter.
  3. Read the tips & tricks section how to use the maps

GPS version:

  • Unpack OFM(EU2015_x_GPS).zip and copy the garmin folder with gmapsupp.img on a (micro) SD-card
  • To put multiple areas on your gps device, rename the file gmapsupp.img (e.g. ofm_2015w.img) and store the files in the same garmin folder on micro SD card. Please note that older gps units only support one gmapsupp.img mapset!
  • You can view the gps mapsets on your computer with Basecamp (with a SD card reader, virtual drive or GPS connected to the pc)
