WHAT IS THE OTOA CLP WORKSHOP SERIES?

It is a series of 3-Day Workshops focusing on the practice and principles for creative, personal, & professional growth through journaling, dialogue, and creative exercises.

WHO LEADS THE WORKSHOPS?

The CLP Workshop Series is led by OTOA Founder & Master Teacher, Gia Forakis.

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE CLP SERIES?

Each weekend is uniquely designed to investigate 3 of OTOA CLP's Six Aspects for Creative Influence: the creative tools for leading a more connected and fulling life practice. The aim of the series is to introduce the strengths and insights of each aspect as tools to guide you in your own life practice.

WHAT DO WORKSHOPS CONSIST OF?

Workshops consist of a combination of individual and group exercises including: writing, creative inquiry, craft projects, ritual and dialogue, all grounded in the principles of the One-Thought-One-Action (OTOA) technique for incremental thought and action.

IS THERE ANY PREPARATION?

Prior to each workshop, registered participants will be sent an information email, outlining what materials to bring, how to prepare, and a creative Pre-Class Exercise.

Pre-Class Exercises are creative projects designed around the topics of each workshop weekend. They may include a task or an activity such as: reading, writing, photography, contemplation, documentation, that the participant does before attending the weekend workshop.

Pre-Class Exercises are meant to be an enjoyable avenue for creative expression and self-learning that brings context, content and a shared experience to the dialogue within the group and the learning process.

Pre-Class Exercises are important to this process, and it is advised to set aside approximately 20-30 minutes for each Pre-Class Exercise.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WORKSHOP PARTICIPATION?

Participation includes individual and group exercises and observation. Exercises are followed by in-class discussion and exchange. Some physical movement may be encouraged, but nothing strenuous or beyond the capacity of the participant’s abilities or level of comfort.

There will be one 15 minute break during the Saturday & Sunday sessions. Participants are welcome to bring their own beverages or snacks, so that they can make the most out of their break time.

"Gia made it all clear. After just a few hours I began to see that my random collection of notes and observations weren't a mess, but a path on which I could reach my goals. I started the CLP workshop with questions and left empowered to effect change and with the tools to do so."

SCHEDULE & CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Registration Deadlines are Listed Below

THE FIRST WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Friday - Sunday October 25 - 27

FRIDAY: 6:00pm - 9:00pm | SAT & SUN: 1:00pm - 5:30pm

Registration Deadline October 21

Topics of study for this weekend will be:

Technique / Discipline

MODUS OPERANDI: METHOD & APPROACH: It's one thing to pursue your career. It's another to create your life. But which comes first, Technique or Discipline? Discipline or Technique? This class will take a deeper look at our relationships and associations with Discipline and Technique, how they inform one another, how we can make better use of them, and how to find a holistic and productive creative process that enriches a cohesive life practice.

Observation / Receptivity

TOOLS FOR CHANGE & CONNECTION: The focus of this aspect is to strengthen an awareness of Inner & Collective Intelligence by focusing on the qualities of individual alertness, re-consideration of belief systems, and re-invigorating encounters with abundance. How we observe and receive the world has a direct impact on defining the world we live in

Nature / Purpose

Just what you were looking for, THE ORGANIZING PRINCIPLE: Connection is the creative core of any creative practice: connection with our individual nature, and connection with something greater than ourselves: our purpose. From this harmony, fulfillment and prosperity can find their ways to supporting us. This class investigates the route towards connecting with our primary core truth, our Nature/Purpose, and our organizing principles for achievement, recognition, remuneration and other measures of success.

THE SECOND WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Friday - Sunday November 1 - 3

FRIDAY: 6:00pm - 9:00pm | SAT & SUN: 1:00pm - 5:30pm

Registration Deadline October 28

Topics of study for this weekend will be:

Time / Space

THE MEDIUM as FRAMING DEVICE: This investigation is intended to encourage a new awareness of temporal and spatial reality where time and space are mediums that we craft and create. How can we use them to our best purpose? We will consider how the principles of One-Thought-One-Action (OTOA) offer more clarity and satisfaction to our projects, relationships, work, and the world we inhabit, as well as explore the paradox that it is by slowing down we actually become better equipped to go further, farther, faster.

Vision / Quest

THE AVENUE: ACTUALIZATION: It is through the caliber of our questions, followed by the dedication of our inquiry, that we chart our path through life. The focus of this class is to investigate how to more productively harness the tools for creative manifestation, for untangling obstacles, and for achieving our goals and visions. "The Journey is where I'm going."

Gratitude / Generosity

"INSTANT KARMA" : THOUGHT IN ACTION: This single Aspect of Creative Influence is one of the most readily available tools we have for manifesting growth, change and transformation in all areas of our lives: personally, professionally and creatively. In this class we will explore our complicated relationships to Gratitude / Generosity towards others and towards ourselves, and look at various ways we can expand our capacity for abundance, healing, and bringing about positive change... one thought, one action at a time.
