We have a rotating stage platform that can be used on our stage (schedule time permitting) or rented. It can be motorized, but we do not own nor can we directly supply the motor and controller.
Dimensions
Rotating Deck 24' diameter, 2-1/4" thick OSB
3/4" plywood Base dimensions 28' wide x 24' deep (see drawing)
8-1/2" finished height
80 Castors support the deck
Transition platforms cover base plywood on front 16' of platform (see drawing)
(2) 12'x8' transition ramps
Setup
Setup takes approximately 6 hours with a minimum crew of 10 people for setting the deck quarter-pieces in place.
Set base panels on the stage per the drawing
Screw 80 Casters in place using (6) 1-1/4" sheet rock screws
Screw kingpin assembly in placing using (6) 2" deck screws
Remove quarter-panels from rack by rocking them out of the retaining hooks and onto the floor next to the base assembly
Gently lower the quarter-panel onto the casters. It should now rotate freely around the casters
Repeat with all 4 panels, noting the relative positions (1 - 4 counting clockwise).
Carefully engage the tongue-and-groove interlocks for the panels working from the outside in, making sure the outer edges are flush, the panels engage properly and the linear gap is minimize. Panels move easier if they are bounced slightly while applying the appropriate lateral forces. For closing the final gap, stomping on the panels from opposite sides in unison can be effective.
Lock panels together through the tongue-and groove utilizing 1-7/8" sheet rock screws in existing holes.
Place center panel on the king pin. It may not drop into place immediately
Adjust platform position until the center panel drops into place.
Secure center center panel with 1-7/8" sheet rock screws.
Transportation
The quarter-sections of the rotating stage weigh about 650 lbs each. They fit on a rolling steel rack for transport.
The envelope for the loaded rack as approximately 6' wide by 17' long by 11' 8" high.
The total weight of the rack and quarter-panels is about 3000 lbs. It must be transported using a double-drop semi trailer. It is strongly recommended that professional riggers be employed when transporting the platform.
Base OSB is about 60lb per sheet (1200 lbs total).
Transition ramps (16 total) and casters all break down to 4' x 8' sections, each section weighing between 80 and 120 lbs.
