In this project, we designed a castle in the CAD software Inventor. The design brief specified that we had to design at least 10 castle components. We had to include 5 required components, and we got to choose from a long list of other features to complete the requirement of 10. You had to make these components using at least 7 different modeling tools. In class, we learned 5 new modeling tools, and we applied this knowledge to our features.
During this project, I learned how to use several new modeling tools like how to use rectangular and circular patterns. I used those for the crenellations, and it made the process more precise, and quicker. I used tapered extrusion to create the roof of the Barracks, which made it much more appealing. Lastly, we learned how to loft a feature, which is how, with the knowledge of how to create new work planes, we made the motte.
