The Executive Committee has the responsibility of coordinating, setting, and distributing the Senate agenda, and the Executive Committee acts for the Senate, according to its instructions between meetings.  The Executive Committee meets at least one week before each Faculty and Senate meeting in order to set the agenda for those meetings.  The Executive Committee is also the organizing force of the Senate, and so on occasion additional meetings may be needed if special urgent issues arise.

Faculty Senate Vice Chair

The FS Vice Chair presides at the meetings of the Faculty Senate and at the meetings of the Full Faculty when the Chair is absent.  According to the bylaws, the Vice Chair serves the remainder of the Chair's term if the Chair's position becomes vacant.  The Vice Chair may volunteer (or be asked by the Chair) to take on specific assignments or projects related to the work of the Executive Committee and the Senate.
