Purpose of the Alpha Alumni Association
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Omega Delta Phi Alpha Alumni Association. Our membership consists of dedicated Alumni that hail from the Alpha Chapter of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc., established on November 25th, 1987. We have united to commit in forming an Alumni Association for the fundamental purpose of safeguarding and perpetuating the legacy of our fraternity's birthplace on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.
We take upon the vital role of Active Alumni in order to set the example of lifelong participation in the great brotherhood that is ODPHI. We hope to grow and foster that brotherhood at an alumni level and build a healthy relationship between the Alpha Chapter alumni alike and the undergraduate membership. By uniting the Alpha Alumni we look to structure a network of professionals that will serve as a resource to the undergraduate membership. As Active Alumni we shall also promote a level of professionalism through our actions, behavior, and character. Through the combined leadership experience and insight of our Alumni we will assist in mentoring the chapter. We will also continuously pursue to build a secure financial foundation for not only the alumni association, but for the Alpha Chapter as well so that monetary obstacles will be of no concern.
To our fellow Alpha Alumni,
We serve as the main avenue to maintain a connection with the Alpha Chapter so that you do not become disconnected after your college experience. In addition, the very alumni who come together will become a resource of contacts to each other to further their respective endeavors. By joining the association, your visible presence and active participation will give meaningful purpose and respect to the title of "Alumnus". Join us and continue to promote the sacraments of UNITY, HONESTY, INTEGRITY, & LEADERSHIP. We welcome your participation as well. Whether your role is that of a guest speaker, advisor, or a donor, we appreciate your dedicated interest and involvement with the Alpha Alumni Association. Our effort to carry out our mission is facilitated by your support and participation. Alpha Alumni Association Activities
Some of our activities are listed, but are not limited to the following:
Meet 3 times a year – Fall and Spring in Lubbock, TX. Summer in Dallas, TX
Manage the AAAssociation listserv so alumni can communicate and keep in contact
Be a resource for the chapter in order to maintain a sound foundation so it is in contention for “Chapter of the Year” on a regular basis
Provide professional and educational programs for the chapter: scholarship, financial assistance, sponsorship to leadership workshops, etc.
Maintain and upgrade the Honorary Omega Delta Phi room on the campus of Texas Tech University.
Organize, with the assistance of the chapter, the annual Alpha banquet or luncheon
Assure that the National conference is held in Lubbock every 5 years by assisting in organizing the event.
Approve and select future alumni into the association
Designate and give Honorary brother status to individuals
Donations are appreciated
All donations go to Omega Delta Phi Alpha Chapter and Alumni Fall and Spring meeting activities.
