Tentative Schedule.

In addition to the general lecture plan this schedule provides information about:

1. Weekly reading - mainly from the text books: (1) Andrew Hugill The Digital Musician and (2) Cox & Warner Audio Culture. Additional reading will be available through the library and other online resources.

2. Exercises or short assignment working towards your creative portfolio.

3. Listening - pieces and extract from a variety of works.

We will be discussing the reading and listening in class so come prepared (in other words you need to read, do, and listen each week between classes)

• History of Electronic Music - a large collection of recordings from ubuweb

• Timeline summarising key events, concepts, and people from about 1900 onward.

• Barry Truax Handbook of Acoustic Ecology is a very useful reference.
