We will start by looking at rhythm - what is rhythm (and what isn't rhythm)? How can we develop rhythmic ideas and rhythmic notation. In the second half of the first term we will look at melody, melodic ideas and development. We will also examine melody in relation to film music and writing for a solo instrument.
