Recent Acquisitions

The Old Darlington District Chapter, SCGS welcomes gifts relating to genealogy and local history. Gifts can be designated charitable contributions and are eligible for income-tax deductions. New and used genealogical books, local history books, church histories, family histories, original family documents and pictures, copies of family documents and pictures, high school and college yearbooks, city directories, old telephone directories, microfilm and microfiche, etc. are examples of donations accepted. Monetary contributions may be designated in honor of or in memory of loved ones. An appropriate genealogical book will be purchased with the donation. Books may also be given in memory or in honor of loved ones. All donations and purchases mentioned above will be placed at the Darlington County Historical Commission on permanent loan. Please mail gifts to: Old Darlington District Chapter, SCGS, P.O. Box 175, Hartsville, SC  29551-0175.

In the fall of 2016 the ODDC SCGS merged its book collection with the book collection of the Darlington County Historical Commission (DCHC). Since that time, many books have been added to the DCHC collection by the ODDC SCGS. Below is a listing of the books added the last two years.
